Feofol-CI is the combined preparation of carbonyl iron and folic acid. It contains carbonyl iron with not less than 98% iron content Carbonyl iron, having high bioavailability & low toxicity, is safer and more effective choice for iron supplementation.

It is indicated for the prevention and treatment of iron deficiency anaemia.

Adults : One capsule daily before food or as directed by the physician.
 

It is contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients. Iron therapy is contraindicated in the presence of haemolytic anaemia.
 

Use of any drug during the first trimester should be avoided if possible. Thus administration of iron during the first trimester requires definite evidence of iron deficiency. Prophylaxis of iron deficiency where inadequate diet calls foe supplementary iron & folic acid is justified during the remainder of pregnancy.
 

Iron chelates with antacid and tetracycline and absorption of all these may be impaired if taken concurrently.
 

Allergic sensitization has been reported following oral administration of folic acid. Oral iron preparation may cause constipation, particularly in older patients, occasionally leading to faecal impaction.
 

Symptoms of carbonyl iron overdose include decreased energy, nausea, abdominal pain, tarry stools; a weak, rapid pulse; fever; coma; seizures.
 

Carbonyl iron may decrease the absorption of tetracycline antibiotics, quinolone antibiotics, levodopa, levothyroxine, methyldopa and penicillamine. Folic acid interacts with antiepileptics no plasma concentrations of phenobarbital, phenytoin and primidone possibly reduced.
 

Keep away from light, store in a cool and dry place. Keep out of reach of children.
